Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)

If an LMIA is required, the employer will need to apply for it from Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC). The LMIA assesses whether hiring a foreign worker will have a positive or negative impact on the Canadian labor market.

Following are the requirements to apply this:

 job offer letter
 contract
 copy of the LMIA, and
the LMIA number
